8 Sunflower Fields Near the Twin Cities

Nearby Sunflower Fields
Sunflower season is upon us. It’s a beautiful time of year, but it doesn’t last long. Sunflower fields can be a stunning location for family portraits or just a beautiful place for a quiet walk. Some locations, like the Afton Apple Orchard, let you cut the flowers to make a bouquet to bring home. Some places have an entrance fee, others allow you to enter for free and only charge if you buy something, like apples or pumpkins. Be sure to check each website or call ahead to find out the cost, and when the sunflowers will be at their peak.
1. Afton Apple Orchard, Hastings
The Afton Apple Orchard is incredibly expansive with seven acres of sunflowers and zinnias, seemingly as far as the eye can see. For an extra fee, you can cut flowers to build a bouquet. As you walk around the flowers you will see so many butterflies and bumblebees buzzing around.
2. Brand Farms, Farmington
This small family farm has been around since 1958! And more than 60 years later, Brand Farms is still thriving. Here you’ll find not only sunflowers but also fresh eggs, apples, and pumpkins.
3. Fish Sunflowers, Various Locations
Starting as a small family farm outside Buffalo, Fish Sunflowers has expanded to Monticello, Becker, Zimmerman, Kimball, Gibbon, Andover, and Albert Lea! Their website offers helpful styling tips so you look great in your photos.

Fresh Acres is a great place for a fun outing. With a sunflower field, corn maze, and pumpkin patch, you could spend hours here.
5. Green Barn Garden Center, Isanti

This sunflower field is planted on the church grounds, and it’s one of the many Fish Sunflower fields mentioned above. It’s a quiet and peaceful place to walk the fields.
7. Treasured Haven Farm, Rush City
Treasured Haven Farm only recently opened up to the public after many requests to access the fields. Here you’ll find hundreds of thousands of sunflowers, a gift shop, walking trails, maple syrup, beef, pork, and more.
